Adversity and Prosperity
A fairly accurate description of my family’s 1998 camping trip to Maine, Adversity and Prosperity: Shadows of one Another is a testament to patience, kindness, trust, and great friends.

Hope Springs Eternal
The theme for the incredibly tumultuous year 2020 was ironically suggested in the fall of 2019. Covid-19 and racism swept the nation. Not as perilous as these life-threatening matters, my true short story Hope Springs Eternal involved yet another kind of hope.

Hidden Colors
For 2021 “anything green” was the directive—color, money, inexperience. I chose green leaves for my first poetry submission.
Read the poem Hidden Colors below.
Hidden Colors
Ponder the green in the leaf,
but not too long for it comes like a thief.
Relentless and measured time exposes us all,
especially the leaf in the winds of late Fall.
Fragile and changing it gives up its colors,
yellow, orange, red, and others
revealing itself in a glorious show
but far too often most never know
how beautiful and fleeting each came to be
all in honor of the Tree.
Imagine us all much like the leaf
with colors hidden far beneath
But unlike the leaf, our colors aren’t shown
for fear of rejection or remaining alone
hoping that someone will venture inside
leaving behind all their fear and pride
to reveal what each was meant to be
all part of the great Tree
